Questions

Which Macs does it work on?

The built-in Liquid Retina XDR display of a 14-inch or 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021 or later). It doesn't work on other Macs or on external displays, and if Lumo can't find a compatible screen it tells you.

Will it use more battery?

Yes. A brighter screen uses more power and can make your Mac warmer, and macOS may lower the brightness on its own if your Mac gets hot. Turn on Only When Charging to boost only while you're plugged in.

Does Lumo collect any data?

No. No account, no tracking and no analytics. See the privacy policy.

How do I turn it off?

Click the sun in the menu bar and untick Full Brightness, or choose Quit. Your display returns to normal.

How does the free trial work?

Everything works free for 7 days. After that, a single $1.99 purchase unlocks Lumo for good. No subscription.

It doesn't look brighter. What now?

Set the macOS brightness slider to maximum and make sure Full Brightness is ticked with Boost Amount at 100%. Still stuck? We're here to help.
